Lightening the Load

As I unpacked today I stumbled upon quite a few things we never used.

Here’s a list of what we won’t be bringing next time to save weight;

  • Various straps, ties and mesh netting for attaching things to the bike
  • Shoulder straps for the Panniers
  • Camping tool with pliers
  • Folding bucket
  • Fire flint
  • Space blanket
  • bike alarm
  • water purification tablets
  • wet weather poncho
  • travel wipes

The large Multitool doubled up on some other tools we had – which thankfully we never needed. The toolkit weight alot with chain whip and spanner. Also thankfully never needed any of our first aid kit or the voltaren gel – we hardly did enough riding to get sore!

The block of chocolate however… wish I knew that was still tucked down the back pocket of the bag… would have loved to have found that much earlier!

    Sounds like my mother packed your bags…

    • Ha ha, Nope, entirely my own fault…I tend to overpack at the best of times… I also recall your recent excess baggage problem… Guess it runs in the family 🙂
